Crunk

August 12 - 18, 2002

Crunk first came to the KNAC.COM chatroom about 2 years ago, in 2000. Besides Crunk he also goes by the names Crunkadelic, Crunkinator, MegaCrunk, PhantomCrunk, Crunk007, ObiWanCRUNKobi, CrunkBilly, TestaCrunk, Sir_Tokealot, Miso_Horny, and YABIGDUMMY. This resident of San Gabriel Valley (L.A., CA for the uninitiated) cites Spyder as his fave DJ and lists PK, Jadzia, MetalMYK, TsTm, Dezz, Idle Threat, Misty, and Thrashergirl as among his fave roomies.

On the subject of music Crunk enjoys Slayer, Sepultura, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Pantera, DRI, Prong, Kreator, G N'R, Motley Crue, Rush, Nirvana ("insert laughter here"), and Megadeth. Two concerts came to mind when we asked Crunk about his most memorable concert. The first was the October 31, 1992 Danzig show at the Irvine Amphitheater. He remembers it because the barricades broke and they filmed the "Mother" video. The second concert was the July 1994 Pantera/Sepultura show also at Irvine. Crunk says, "White Zombie opened and both Sepultura and Pantera rocked. Brazil also won the World Cup that day, so Sepultura was especially pumped up. I was never as blown away by a concert like I was for that one."

When we asked Crunk what he likes to do when he's not chatting he replied, "Aside from playing guitar, just reading and the occasional model. Hiking and camping. Getting baked." Besides KNAC.COM he visits Yahoo. He tells us he used to have his own homepage but, "I guess Lycos didn't appreciate all the bud pics I had posted!"

Crunk says one of the things he enjoys the most about the chatroom is that almost every day someone says something really funny. He cites getting faced by someone like Ey or PK as his most embarrassing moments in the room. What makes the KNAC.COM chatroom so special for Crunk is that he remembers "back in the day" when KNAC was the hardest station in L.A. He felt like part of a family because "there weren't many of us. Plus KNAC was the only radio station with teeth. LOL!" With no hard music station in L.A. currently, KNAC.COM is somewhere Crunk can go to hear the music he enjoys.
