The Rack first came to KNAC.COM on December 1, 1998, which was her first day on the air as a DJ. Dirge is known in chatroom cant as an "old-timer" who arrived not long after they went on the air in February of 1998. Back then, however, he used a different nick. Rack says she first met Dirge in the chatroom and through email. They met face to face for the first time at Benny's in March 2000. She says there was something about Dirge that blew her away that night and she never forgot it. In her own words, "He was a very kind, gentle soul and the way that he looked me in the eyes I knew he was a very special person." |

Dirge's version of how they met isn't much different. He says he met her from thousands of miles away while listening to her show. He seems to have had an instantaneous connection to her too when they finally met in person. As he jokingly puts it, "Once we were able to hang out face to face, IT WAS ON!" He continues on a more serious note, "Our meeting and current situation is one long and beautiful story." Obviously, this couple has some deep feelings for each other and when we asked them what they each thought was most special about the other they gave some very serious answers. Rack says that Dirge is the kindest human being she's ever met in her entire life. "There are so many facets to him that it would be very difficult for me to go into massive detail about everything that is special about him. I can tell you he makes me feel like I'm the most special person in his life and in return I try and honor him by doing the same." Dirge says that Rack has a way about her he's never experienced with anyone else. "She's warm and compassionate while always able to maintain control of a situation and keep guns blazing. She is very in touch with herself and the world around her. She's a truly amazing young lady." On the subject of the chatroom things become more humorous for both of them. Asked about their fave DJs, Rack's response was "That boy better say me!" while Dirge's response was *scratches head*! The requisite fave roomies question ellicited this from them: Rack: "There are roomies? No seriously, there are way too many to name. Mainly I enjoy the ones that make my day go faster....they know who they are." Dirge: "Anyone that has intelligence shining through some of that poop we sling around in there." The funniest thing that's ever happened to them in the chatroom got this response: "Outtie farted and the screen color changed. The desktop pattern has never been the same. Phew!" LOL Rack says what makes KNAC so special for her is "They pay my rent! No seriously, KNAC.COM for me is my life. It's been my life for the last 3 years. Each day I wake up to go to a booth to play music and chat with a group of people that are the greatest people on the planet. It's all about music and people's love for music, my love for music. Without KNAC.COM I would have never met Dirge or anyone else for that matter that I've met over the last 3 years. Love live rock n roll." Did we already say that these two are on the same wavelength? If we didn't, catch Dirge's response to what makes KNAC special for him: "KNAC is a way of life, a belief system if you will. It is a way to stay in touch with all that made your early years the balls out adventure it was. Listening to your favorite music yet being blown away by something out of the box. It's all about the music and the way it has meshed with all of our lives. Did I digress? Oh yeah, they pay my girlfriend's rent... LOL" When it comes to music Dirge enjoys Eighteen Visions, Martyr a.d., Meshuggah, Melvins, Slayer,S O A D, EXHORDER, and "Anyone that knows how to control distortion and convey anger." Rack's taste leans toward Slayer, Pantera, In Flames, Nevermore, Queensryche, Anthrax, Fear Factory, Machine Head, Rorschach Test, and Lacuna Coil. This chatroom couple currently live together with their two "kids" a dog named Kineda and cat named Princess. They use two computers simultaneously at home (Rack sez "Pass the mouse u bastard!" LOL) and when asked if their similar taste in music helps their relationship, Rack told us, "No it's having the same taste in eye makeup for me! He loves to use my Mac eyeshadow!" |
