RJ promised us a new pic very soon!

RJStone first came to the KNAC.COM chatroom the week before Knac.demonet.com went on the air. NastyNeil was doing a test and he popped in then. When asked who the most interesting KNAC staffers are RJ replied, "What staff?" On the subject of the most entertaining and/or loyal roomies, RJ first thought that the question wasn't exactly fair. However, he did go on to say that as far as loyalty is concerned the few roomies that have been coming to KNAC.COM since Day One (too many to mention) have this area cornered of course. RJ goes on to say that the most entertaining roomie in his opinion was when the original "Saint" kept coming in. "I would boot his ass every time he opened his mouth. The room seemed to like that." The funniest thing that ever happened to him in the chatroom is another of those F5 moments! He was pm-ing someone something very confidential and he forgot to hit the F5 key so the whole room picked up on it! Doh! RJ told us that his dream job would be A&R at a label, Promotions Director at a major FM, or doing character Voice-overs. The worst job he's ever had was when he was a production assistant for the TV Show "Before They Were Stars." RJ says, "THE absolute worst job you can ever get is being a PA in TV. You are degraded and belittled by producers who have their heads so far up their asses, it isn't funny." Musically, RJ says that from the pure Rock side of things, Iron Maiden is his favorite but overall it's the Beatles. His most memorable concert was seeing all four nights of Maiden's Powerslave tour in Long Beach. He also mentions Maiden at Irvine 1993, Paul McCartney at Anaheim 1992, and the US Festival in 1983 as all ranking right up there as well. Working in the industry RJ hasn't had to purchase CDs or concert tickets in a few years but he did buy Angels tickets to see Cal Ripkin! The studio guest who impressed RJ the most was Geddy Lee whom RJ says was real cool. "We talked for a minute and when he was leaving he signed my bass even though he's not supposed to due to endorsment legalities. Very Cool." RJ was least impressed with the guys who came in with the singer for Spineshank not long ago. "I was doing the interview and those guys thought their shit didn't stink. I can't remember their names but the Spineshank dude was cool." On a more serious note RJ says that the people whom he feels have influenced him most are his mom and his sister who have each recently gone back to school. His sister is working on her PhD and his mom just got her B.A. and is now working on her Masters. Both have given him renewed inspiration and he's going back to school because of it. Professionally RJ says, "I'm gonna get a lot of shit from this but Stew Herrera at KLOS (former KNAC'er) is probably the person in the radio industry that I admire most. He took his career by the horns and just ran with it. He doesn't let anything stand in his way and he has accomplished a ton. You hear him all over the place, TV, Radio, Movies, Cable, he's everywhere!" |
