Winterheart and Rottn1 met in October 1998 due to the persistence of roomie Angel. Rottn1 first came to the KNAC chatroom back in the DemoNet days prior to the site's official opening in February 1998, which makes him one of the original roomies. Winter first came to the chatroom in May 1998. The two began chatting in the room, then moved on to ICQ, then the phone, and then Angel arranged for them to meet! They've been living together ever since.

This couple has no children together, but Winter has a daughter, Poodle. They live in Westminster on the border of Huntington Beach and in the shadow of Gecko's (now the Liquid Lounge) with a single pet, Skunk the Mutant Cat.

Rottn1 loves the music of Nevermore, Disturbed, Ozzy, Metallica, Ratt, and Creed but is a die-hard Queensrÿche fan with a related tattoo to prove it! Winter's fave bands are Godsmack, Great White, Nevermore, the Scorpions and Creed. When it comes to their faves in the chatroom, Winter's fave DJs are basically... all of them but she has a soft spot for EvereadyEd, who was the first person she ever met from the chatroom. Rottn's fave DJs over the years include Ed, Junkman, Diana Deville, RJStone, AJMotts, Crazy Craig, Spyder, Mark Mendoza, Nasty Neil, and most of all founder Rob Jones who has the funniest schtick of any DJ! Both Winter and Rottn say they have too many fave roomies to really list them all but do credit a few as being really special to them. These include Kissmy & Kyuss, SlayerChic, mtlka, Snowman, Sterling, Outlaw, Axlsgoddess, Gunslinger, HarleyJane, Phantombluefan, LdyWoreBlk & CrpnDeth, and of course EvereadyEd and DemolitionGirl. ("If we forgot someone, we apologize for the senior moment!")

Winter says that their taste in music drew them together, among other things, but that isn't what keeps them going. She cites a willingness to compromise as the cement in their relationship. They have a lot of things in common most importantly, they both like to read and drive, they love HB and hate to come out from behind the Orange Curtain, they like the same TV shows (The Sopranos, the Speed Channel, Autopsy, CSI), food (Mexican!), and magazines (anything computer related). They also have complimentary likes and dislikes - he loves beer, she doesn't drink, he's good at computer hardware, she's better at software, she sleeps at night, he's a day sleeper. Oddly enough, they were both born in Northern California in small cities about 20 miles apart. However, Rottn's family has been in Orange County for over 30 years and Winter moved to L.A. in 1991, then to Orange County in 1998.
