KNAC.COM is like the Cheers bar, a place where just about everyone knows your name. Newbies are welcomed into the community without question. People are accepted for who they are not what they look like, where they work, where they live or come from, how much money they have or any of those other things that are actually unimportant in the big scheme of things called Life. When I first came to KNAC people were nice to me. They ACCEPTED me and they became my friends. These people from the chatroom, people I had never met, were my friends. When I met them face to face, they were happy to finally meet me. They hugged me, they were glad to be with me. I felt like I had come home. |

KNAC and these warm, caring people filled a void I hadn't known I'd had inside me. The people were warm and spontaneous in person as well as in the chatroom. The first person I met from the chatroom was DJ EvereadyEd. Ed was the same in person as he was in the chatroom, funny, warm, overflowing with humorous things to say. Ed can find something humorous in anything, perhaps because he tries to make even bad stuff into something good, something to smile about. When you smile, things don't seem so bleak do they? Even though I was sort of seeing someone when I first came to KNAC I met someone there who treated me differently than other men had in the past. We had fundamental things in common such as a penchant for "real" people rather than the ones who try to be everything they really aren't. When roomie Angel came to visit, she insisted on meeting this man. Thanks to her I finally met him in person. He seemed more shy in person than in the chatroom. For two days I couldn't forget his green eyes, so I called him and asked him over. He made me feel more special than anyone ever had before. I loved him more than I had ever loved anyone before. And if it weren't for KNAC I would never have had this experience. |

Rob Jones will always be special to me because he built this place called KNAC.COM and he nurtured it by being one of us, by coming in and talking with us even when he was so busy he couldn't see straight. I never felt that Rob saw himself as apart from all the regular Joes in the chatroom. I always felt that Rob was one of us, that he built this dot com because he was one of us. All of you who have been my friends (you know who you are) I'm sure you can all relate to what I've said here. |

So what really is KNAC.COM? Rob said it best when he called it a community. A community with people from around the globe who don't see color, race, sex, money, size, age, or sexual preference. A community of people who love music, who want somewhere to go where they aren't criticized or ostracized or judged. A place where you can meet new people, make friends and even sometimes find a lover. |

The man I love probably loves KNAC more than he loves me, but it's ok, because I love it too. And whether he and I stay together for years and years or not, I will still love KNAC for being there so I could meet him and all the other regulars and have this experience. Coming into that chatroom is like coming home at the end of the day. You're greeted with warm hugs and hellos and then you can sit back and relax because you're home.
